Spring Cleaning - Reclaim Your Space and Recycle Responsibly

Across west St. Tammany Parish, garages, sheds and warehouses are packed with items that are no longer needed. Spring is the perfect time to haul out those items and reclaim valuable space.

Though cluttering homes or businesses, many of these items are too good to be sent to landfills. The Habitat for Humanity St. Tammany West offers a convenient solution for the responsible recycling of gently used items.ReStore recycle donate Last year through ReStore donations, 570 tons of reusable material was diverted from local landfills by environmentally conscience households and businesses.

The ReStore accepts gently used furniture, appliances, building materials, clothing, home decor and hardware. Pickups of large items from homes or business can easily be arranged by calling 985-898-0642. In addition receiving a tax receipt for items, donors get the satisfaction in freeing up their space while building local homes.

Proceeds generated from the Habitat ReStore are used to fund Habitat for Humanity’s mission of building homes, community and hope. With the help of local residents, the ReStore funds the construction of over two Habitat homes in western St. Tammany Parish a year.
